The Johnny Faeber 10K was held Sunday March 9,
2008 at 6A. This race starts in the dark at Kapolani Park. This race is held in honor of one of the greatest cross country coaches to ever coach at the University of Hawaii. Johnny Faeber has since retired in the state of Oregon but frequently makes it out to Hawaii to be the official race starter.
The race course starts by the tennis courts and runs up and over Diamond Head, around Triangle Park doing a small loop around Kahala heading back to Triangle Park and up and over Diamond Head finishing at the Honolulu Marathon finish at Kapolani Park.
Race refreshments included several sodas and my favorite, Mountain Dew. It was a nice relaxing time at the award cerimony which was held at the bandstand area.
The Mid Pacific Road Runners Club (MPRRC) hold this race annually. It is one of the many races they hold at Kapolani Park.
