The Harold Chapson 8K was held on February 3 at 7A. The roads were slightly wet and the weather was overcast but it did not rain. The race is named after Harold Chapson who in the 1970's and 1980's continued to set age division records running the Honolulu Marathon under 4 hours in his late 70's and running a 6:40 mile in his 80's in the 1980's.
The race course starts on Monzarat Ave across from the end of the second Kapolani Parking lot running CCW around half of Kapolani Park before turning right up and over Diamond Head. The 8K course runs CCW around Triangle park up and over the ocean side of Diamond Head finsihing at the Honolulu Marathon finish.

Todays race refreshments included coffee and sodas. Mountain Dew is my favorite and I drank a couple while chatting with my friends. This is the third race of the year that the Mid Pacific Road Runners Club (MPRRC) puts on. The MPRRC is the oldest running club on the island of Oahu having been formed in 1962. The Harold Chapson 8K race has been held for over 20 years.
