Maui Jacaranda 10K 2008 Race Review
Review by Louis Tomsic
The Maui Jacaranda 10K was held on a sunny Saturday morning starting at 8A on May 17, 2008. This race is one of the hardest races to run because it 6 miles all up hill. There are severall flat portions where a runner can catch their breath before heading up hill again. Most races, I never think about walking but there were a couple of times that I thought about it but did not do it. I passed a couple of runners who were walking to catch thier breath. The view of the purple Jacaranda trees are nice with their purple leaves falling on the road. The run up Haleakala smells refreshing.
Over 100 runners did this race because it offers one of the nicest breakfasts I have ever encountered on Maui after the race. The breakfast is gourmet at the lodge.
